Product Details

Aumeascon’s Radar open channel flow meter uses non-contact microwave radar to measure surface velocity and water level in rivers, canals, and sewers, calculating flow rate (Q=V*A) by combining velocity with cross-sectional area, making it ideal for harsh conditions with sediment or pollution, and offers easy installation and maintenance. These devices rely on the Doppler principle to detect reflections from surface waves, unaffected by fluid temperature, corrosion, or floating debris, supporting automation and remote monitoring.

How It Works

1) Velocity Measurement: The radar sensor emits microwave signals that bounce off surface waves. By analyzing the frequency shift (Doppler effect) of the returning signals, it calculates the water’s surface velocity.
2) Level Measurement: A separate radar or integrated sensor measures the water level (depth).
3) Flow Calculation: Using the measured velocity, depth, and pre-programmed channel geometry, the device’s software calculates the cross-sectional area and applies a correction factor to determine the total flow rate (Discharge = Velocity x Area).
