- Thin, well-mixed sludge where no clear interface exists to measure
- Tanks with mechanical scrapers passing within the probe's measurement path
- Very deep tanks beyond the stated range
Maintenance and service life
Clean the probe monthly in heavy sludge service. Re-run the blanket calibration after any change to the sludge draw-off schedule, because the profile, not the instrument, has usually changed. The probe has no moving parts.
